When I first came across 100% Pure Cosmetics a few years ago, my first thought was “Pssshhht, yeah right! I’ll see about that!” I have spent years scouring the internet and reading product labels so I was a bit skeptical, to say the least. And I must admit that I am a bit obsessed with beauty products, especially if they are all natural. You can never have enough makeup, nail polish, body wash or hair products, am I right ladies? So, I am always on the lookout for good products.
You are probably wondering why all natural? They are safe for one thing. No harsh chemicals, synthetics fragrances or petroleum byproducts or formaldehyde releasers for this gal. Since switching, I have noticed that my skin and hair look and feel so much better. I no longer experience skin breakouts and irritation, my scalp isn’t itchy, etc. I feel healthier and I am healthier because I am not putting chemicals on my body. Plus they are not damaging to the environment.
There are quite a few companies out there that claim to be all natural but when I took a closer look at their product labels I found that they contain propylene glycol, artificial fragrances, and colors and several other very unnatural ingredients. For more in-depth information on these chemicals and why you should avoid them click here. So, I considered the company name alone to be a very bold claim and I immediately had to find out if they were the real deal or if it was yet another company using greenwashing to sell their products. I also had questions about the product range and how is the color selection? Are all of the lipsticks going to be boring shades of brown? Luckily with a little digging, all of my questions were answered.

How Pure, Is 100% Pure Cosmetics?
Color cosmetics that are actually good for you and nourish your skin? I used to think this was an urban legend or marketing scheme of some kind. But as I researched their products I discovered it was all true and I am so pleased to tell you that as the company name implies, their products really are one hundred percent pure. You will not find any parabens, phthalates, artificial colors or preservatives, propylene glycol, SLS or other nasty chemical ingredients. Instead, you will find plant-based ingredients (many that are organic) that actually benefit your skin.
Fruit and vegetable pigments and extracts form the base of most of their products.
Ingredients include –
- organic aloe vera juice
- jasmine green tea extract
- pomegranate seed oil
- Cocoa extract
- rose water
- rice starch
- white tea leaf extract
- coffee cherry and elderberry extract
- acai fruit oil, peach, apricot, strawberry, and goji berry extracts
The list of amazing, antioxidant-rich ingredients goes on and on. I was super impressed!
Are The Products Safe and Who Can Benefit From Using Them?
In short, yes! It is hard to go wrong with truly natural ingredients. However, you should take into consideration any allergies you may have. It is good to always check the ingredients. This is extremely important if you have severe fruit or nut allergies.
Using completely natural and/or organic products benefit everyone. They are great for sensitive skin, especially chemically sensitive or if you just want to avoid synthetic ingredients. They are also environmentally friendly since no chemicals or petroleum byproducts are used in their manufacturing. Yay!
What Kind of Products Do They Offer?
They offer a full range of color cosmetics that includes two primers, one that is mattifying and another that illuminates. Foundations, tinted moisturizers, concealers, pressed powder, powder and cream blushes, eyeshadows, mascara, bronzer, etc, round out their extensive line. They cater to all skin types and skin tones. Not to mention, the packaging is absolutely beautiful and is made from recycled materials.
I was very pleased with their range of colors, foundations and pressed powder come in shades to match all skin tones from palest porcelain to deep cocoa. Not all makeup brands carry colors for the lighter or darker skinned beauties. News flash! Not everyone has medium to tan skin and no one should have to miss out on looking their most beautiful, due to poor color selection. Luckily, this company has answered that call as well.
If you are looking for light coverage the Fruit Pigmented Water Foundation, BB Cream or Fruit Pigmented Tinted Moisturizer is your best best. The water foundation having the lightest coverage of the three.
For medium to full coverage, I would suggest trying the Fruit Pigmented Cream Foundation which is best suited for drier skin types. The Fruit Pigmented Healthy Skin Foundation and the new 2nd Skin Foundation with Olive Squalane + Fruit Pigments offer the fullest coverage and are good for all skin types.
It is no different with their concealers. You have your choice of long-lasting, full coverage cream concealer or a lighter liquid version if that is what you prefer.
Blushes come in a pressed powder form in shades of nude, peach, and pink from the palest to the deeper more intense shades. I was surprised at the size of the compact, they are actually quite large so you get a lot of product which is nice. If you prefer cream blush they have that available as well in the form of a Fruit Pigmented Pot Rouge, which you can also use on your lips.
Lipsticks and lip glazes are available that are super hydrating and come in gorgeous shades of nude, peach, pink and red to flatter every skin tone, warm or cool. The lip glazes tend to be sheer and the lipsticks more opaque, with a semi-gloss finish and are highly pigmented. They recently launched a new line of lip glosses called Lip Caramels featuring very on-trend shades of bright coral to deep burgundy. If you don’t like sticky lips, then I suggest you give these a try. Some shades have a little sparkle and all are high-shine.
The Fruit Pigmented Lip & Cheek Tints are great for if you are on the go or just don’t like to be fussy about your makeup. This is a wonderful option for busy moms, career women on the go or just anyone really. They come in a twist up tube that is very convenient to use and offer very buildable coverage. The colors can be as sheer and natural or deep and dramatic as you want them to be.
Their line of Creamy Nail Polish is 10-free (free of formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor, formaldehyde resin, xylene, parabens, fragrances, phthalates, and animal ingredients).
The nail polish comes in a huge selection of colors from deepest red to sky blue. Some of their most popular shades are Sugar Melon, a creamy baby pink with a slight warm undertone, Ambrosia Melon, a soft peachy pink with tiny specks of gold glitter, and Watermelon, a bright juicy red.
They also have a full range of natural and organic skin care for every skin type, body and hair care products and an extra gentle line for babies. I absolutely love their Super Fruits Cream and Butter Soaps!
Some best-selling products are their Organic Shampoo and Conditioner, Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream, Coconut Nourishing Body Cream and Luminous Primer.
Can I Order Samples and What is Their Return Policy?
Individual samples are not available for purchase, but free samples of skin and body care are included with each order and they do offer free shipping and free returns. Bonus!
They have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. For example, if the lipstick you ordered is not the right shade, you can return or exchange it within 30 days. Not all cosmetics companies allow you to return makeup products once they have been opened, so this is pretty awesome if you ask me.
Where Are The Products Made and Are They Cruelty-Free?
The products are made right here in the USA. This is something I personally look for when purchasing cosmetics. I like to keep it local and I am glad they do too! I am also happy to report that they are cruelty-free and vegan. The company is very animal- friendly and is against all animal testing. Our furry familiars should never have to suffer or sacrifice themselves for our beauty. In fact, they run a monthly pet rescue charity program.
Who Owns The Company?
The company was founded in 2005 by Susie Wang and Rick Kostic in a farmhouse in Napa, California and is now based in Silicon Valley. Susie loves developing products and has a background in the cosmetics industry. She loves animals and is a true beauty pioneer in my opinion.
Where Can I Buy Them?

I absolutely love this company and everything they stand for! They are a makeup and natural beauty addict’s dream come true. If you want really high-quality natural cosmetics then I strongly recommend that you check them out. Why just slap some color on your face, when you could be wearing makeup that actually benefits and nourishes your skin?
