“The eyes are one of the most powerful tools a woman can have. With one look, she can relay the most intimate message. After the connection is made, words cease to exist. ” ~ Jennifer Salaiz
Hello, steel-eyed Beauties!
For part three of my five-part series on the best makeup for your eye color, I will be addressing what looks best on you.
Grey eyes are really interesting. They range from true silver to deep charcoal or can contain a multitude of colors. Because of their ability to pick up other colors, they are often mistaken for blue eyes. However, truly blue eyes look REALLY blue when another blue shade is worn near them whereas grey eyes do not. Grey eyes will pick up some of the blue, but they will not change to a more blue tone.
I always think of the seaside when I see grey eyes. Weathered driftwood, stormy skies, and white capped silvery waves… Or I associate them with antique silver and pewter. Lovely.

Multi-Grey Eyes
Similar to brown eyes, you actually have a little more leeway when it comes to eyeshadow colors. If you have multi-grey eyes you can switch up your look to enhance the blue, aqua/green or silvery tones depending on which colors of eye makeup you choose.
To Make Your Eyes Bluer choose the following orange-based shadows –
- Nude Tones
- Neutral Browns
- Soft Copper
- Peach
- Melon
- Orange (for a bold look)
Cocoa Brown, Deep Bronze or Deep Copper eyeliner with Deep Chocolate Brown or Black mascara.
Here are some looks you may want to try –
Bright Pop of Orange
Create a bright wash of sunset orange around the eye by layering lighter and deeper shades of tangerine for depth. Shade 9.10.2.1, 9.10.1.2., and 9.10.3.1. in the Citron Collection from PsycheMineraux on Etsy would be perfect.
Melontini
Create a sweet youthful look with pink-melon toned shadows such as Sugar 611 from Vapour Organic Beauty or First Bloom from TaterRoundsBeauty on Etsy.
Perfect Nudes
Natural nudes shades have been all the rage for the past couple years, which is good news for you since you can wear the perfectly! Create this look with the Pretty Naked II Palette from 100% Pure Cosmetics or the Classic Nudes Eyeshadow Trio from Gabriel Cosmetics.
Bring out the aqua or green tones in your eyes with shades of –
- Rose

True Grey Eyes
True silver, steel, and charcoal grey eyes are simply breathtaking and somewhat rare. Make them shine with monochromatic shades. Think of the grey scale used by artists –
- Bright White
- Silver
- Pewter
- Stormcloud grey

- Charcoal
- Black
Deepest black, shimmery dark pewter, and deepest blue eyeliners, with black mascara.

Bright Silver
Shimmer and shine with shades of silver and pewter. Use cream shadows and creamy eyeliners like the Gleaming Pewter – Creamy Long Last Liner from 100% Pure Cosmetics or the Smoke – Phyto-Pigments Cream Shadow Stick from Juice Beauty.
